Marketing Technologist = A master alchemist who creates magic at the intersection of Marketing and Technology.

“A Marketing Technologist possesses unique skills which helps them understand (and separate) the silos of Marketing and Technology, and then blends them together in just the right proportions to create the Holy Grail of highly effective marketing campaigns segmented by customer types.” – Michael Haupt

Design & Develop

Front-end web development is not magic, it’s skill. I can independently architect and develop website and applications using web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery. To date, I have had a chance to work or play around with: MVC frameworks (Sinatra, Rails, CodeIgniter), CSS frameworks and extensions (Bootstrap, Foundation, Materialize, SASS), templating languages (Embedded Ruby, Handlebars, Blaze, Twig), Javascript libraries or frameworks (jQuery, MeteorJS, AngularJS, ReactJS), etc. I always look forward to learning to use new tools/frameworks/libraries, and to strengthen my existing skills and my understanding of browser technologies and website performance.
As a person who highly enjoys problem solving and logical thinking, I very much enjoy back-end development. From building and consuming RESTful APIs to designing both SQL and NoSQL databases, writing unit tests or implementing simple design patterns to keep code DRY, I have a foundation of back-end technologies knowledge and skills to build on. Specific tools and languages I have used to date on the back-end include Ruby, PHP, Javascript (NodeJS), RSpec, PHPUnit, SQL, MongoDB.
With a good understanding of basic user experience and user interfaces design concepts, and a keen interest in web accessibility best practices, I am confident I can be of help in teams missing a dedicated UX/UI designer. I am often being told I have a great eye for detail and enjoy putting myself in customer’s shoes. Nevertheless, I strongly believe that every idea has to be tested to develop better product designs.

Acquire More Leads

With thorough understanding of the digital advertising landscape and experience managing complex campaigns, I can help you reach new customers and maximize your presence on a local or international scale through crafting, expanding and optimizing complex search, display, shopping or remarketing campaigns. In addition to reporting with thoughtful analysis, I can coordinate implementation of complex tracking codes and make sure everything runs smoothly by doing root-cause analysis, trouble-shooting technical components, or adapting tactics.
In addition to search engine advertising, I am familiar with the basics of digital advertising, online classified advertising, and video advertising. From designing creatives to choosing the optimal pricing model and channels, I can help you pay only for results.
Listen to your customer, learn his language, and speak to your customer’s mind, creating connection and desire to buy/engage. I am happy to help with planning out content to attract prospective customers at every stage of the marketing funnel. And why not supplement that with some smartly targeted social media advertising?
From setting out your templates and subscriber acquisition strategies to personalizing interaction with automation, I am confident that delivering the right content at the right moment can help you stimulate engagement or increase your sales. I am familiar with platforms such as MailChimp and Constant Contact, but also eager to discover new tools and take advantage of their power.

Increase Conversions

Careful and considered customer segmentation is crucial to the implementation of an effective marketing strategy. Resources are limited, and understanding that targeting every potential market is not the way to go is the very first step to being successful. Let’s sit down and talk about your buyer personas.
Sean Ellis coined the term “growth hacker” in 2010, defining it as “a person whose true north is growth. Everything they do is scrutinized by its potential impact on scalable growth.” To achieve growth, one must always measure, limit friction, and optimize conversion rates. A successful conversion rate optimization specialist understands and is fascinated by data analysis and statistics. Trust me, I love numbers and charts.
Smart online merchandising isn’t really an art. It’s just being one step in front of the customer through continuous measuring, testing and adjusting. In a nutshell, much of it is about how your products are presented. Is it easy for your customers to find what they are looking for? Do you provide all the necessary details to help them make the decision? Do they feel secure? How do you differentiate yourself from your competitors? How do you sell more? Oh, so many questions to ask .. so many opportunities to generate growth!
Don’t push your products to them. Win your customers. Listen to their needs, refine your products, and never ever stop thinking about them. Happy to help!

Retain & Grow

Every marketer is nowadays aware of the importance of delivering personalized communications to customers based on real-time behavior, preferences, interests, and other customer data. Predicting customer interests and needs and offering each individual customer a unique journey will ensure that customers feel happy about the interaction with your brand, that they recommend the brand to their friends, and, of course, return for more!
Acquiring leads is not easy. Nor cheap. And, when it comes to marketing, repetition can make the difference. Let me help plan, set up your remarketing audiences and ensure you get those leads to come back to you and convert.
Sell smartly and delight your customers. A way to increase your customer’s lifetime value is to master cross-selling and up-selling. If you’ve got your customer’s attention, why not make the best out of the moment? Let’s talk.
My education in economics and business administration (with a focus on organizational management and marketing strategies), together with my professional experience in a variety of industries and markets have allowed me to achieve a good understanding of the most common business models, challenges, and opportunities.

Measure & Optimize

What you cannot measure doesn’t count, right? Digital analytics is my main focus. With extensive working knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, I can help translate business requirements into useful analyses, build efficient reports and dashboards, and provide actionable insight. In addition to that, I pride in also having the technical skills required to implement and troubleshoot complex analytics tools.
All marketers want more flexibility. Being able to set up marketing tracking without having to wait for a web developer to become available means you can experiment freely and minimize dead times. I can help you set up pretty much everything you want with Google Tag Manager and have your campaigns go live almost instantly. To add to that, my basic understanding of programming languages (with a focus on Javascript) often help me translate any additional, more complex requirements into technical specifications for the web developers.
When in trouble, proceed to .. sleuthing (“tracking”, “following”). If anything seems wrong, being able to analyze data, spot anomalies, and dig in to reveal the root cause can help minimize losses. My HTML, CSS and Javascript tools, combined with some practical knowledge of tools such as Chrome Developer Tools, and a confident command of Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics have proven be very helpful when trying to identify functionality or tracking issues.

I would recommend Ruxandra for any team, as her knowledge, skills and experience make her a tremendous contributor and a powerful asset.

Don Burks, Lighthouse Labs
I’d like to preface this recommendation with stating that I never write these, I’m a hard sell, but I was so impressed by Ruxandra’s ability that I felt it was due.

In just over a year she had shown to be one of the best agents I had ever worked with. Her ability to not just cope with, but excel at every project she was given, to tirelessly educate herself as her fields evolve, and to operate without supervision, picking up and mastering everything she touched, made her a vital coworker almost immediately, and one that I tried very hard to keep.

I believe she’s a tremendously valuable asset, and genuinely gifted person, that’s going to impress whomever she decides to partner herself with.

Aaron Carlson, Cymax Stores
Ruxandra joined our marketing team with the promise of data driven results and she delivered. She is a fast learner with a strong marketing background who is eager to tackle complex problems. She has a deep interest in analytics and is able to apply what she learns quickly and efficiently.

Extremely kind and resourceful, Ruxandra loves to share her knowledge along with any findings she comes across that may improve our daily processes. Highly enthusiastic, curious, and hardworking, she is a pleasure to work with. Ruxandra would be an asset to any team.

Alicia Fu, Cymax Stores
[Ruxandra] went above and beyond in every single task, always on time and with the highest quality. Thanks to Ruxandra’s skills and work ethic, she left our organization with some excellent results and fantastic recommendations.

The invaluable contributions she made during her internship helped support the Society’s mission to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life of people living with cancer. It was a true pleasure having Ruxandra on my team and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her for a permanent position if the opportunity arose.

Ruxandra is a very proactive and engaging worker. She continually goes above and beyond her duties in a diligent and professional manner. She has an amazing way with people, while maintaining a professional manner.

I would highly recommend Ruxandra for any role with technology, administrative and working with people.

Kate McKenna, Lululemon Athletica
Working with Ruxandra on my new website was an incredibly rewarding experience. I have never worked with anyone more dedicated to the job and also equally excited about the project.

She helped me with everything I needed to be set up and ready to go and when glitches came up, she stubbornly worked away until she fixed them. She was incredibly patient with me when I had questions and went above and beyond by also teaching me about Google Analytics, Mail Chimp, HootSuite and various other platforms that benefited my business…

I couldn’t say enough good things about Ruxandra’s knowledge, dedication and passion to the project.

Ruxandra has an amazing passion for getting involved in good causes, and an insatiable curiosity that makes her be the type of professional every organization should be hunting for. I had the pleasure to meet her during the 2013 Daffodil Campaign of the Canadian Cancer Society, and her inspirational pitch made me write a series of articles for increasing cancer awareness in Greater Vancouver.
She was always helpful and eager to provide the information and get the photographs required for the articles, as well as to coordinate the interviews needed. At the same time, she demonstrated her professionalism and deep knowledge on marketing and public relations. I would not hesitate to recommend Ruxandra for future endeavours.
Ruxandra is a great professional. She puts a nice personal touch to her work.

I had the opportunity to work with her at 3 major business events, and was always nicely surprised with her dedication.

I highly recommend her!
